About WorkRate
Simple hours. Clearer pay.
WorkRate is a free Australian timesheet calculator built to make it easier to organise shifts, account for unpaid breaks and estimate gross earnings.
Why we built it
Keeping track of changing shifts can be confusing, especially when start times, finish times and unpaid breaks vary from week to week. WorkRate brings those details together in one straightforward place so you can review your hours and estimate your pay.
What WorkRate can do
- Record shift dates, start times, finish times and unpaid breaks.
- Calculate paid hours over a week or fortnight.
- Use hourly rates and time bands that you enter.
- Estimate gross earnings and export your shift details as a CSV file.
What it cannot do
WorkRate is an estimation tool, not payroll, tax or legal advice. It does not automatically determine your award, enterprise agreement, overtime, allowances, public holiday entitlements, tax or deductions. Your actual pay may differ. Check your employment conditions and payslip when confirming your entitlements.
Our approach
We aim to keep the calculator straightforward, explain its limitations clearly and improve it based on useful feedback. WorkRate is currently free to use.
